How can thoughts be translated directly into movement? This question lies at the heart of a groundbreaking research project at TUM. In collaboration with the TUM Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI), medical experts, engineers, and AI researchers are working to decode neural signals—aiming to enable a patient with complete paralysis to control digital devices and robotic systems using only the power of thought. Their findings could pave the way for entirely new forms of communication between humans and machines—and ultimately help enhance independence and quality of life.
