Doctoral students can now enroll in the Graduate Program in Robotics and Machine Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Registration for the program created by the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) will be open from October 16, 2023. After two years online, Jugend forscht, Germany's science competition for young talent, is back live. This week, at the regional Jugend forscht München West competition organized by MIRMI, Franka Emika and the Robokind Foundation, 63 young scientists presented 44 exciting and innovative research projects in the seven thematic areas of Jugend forscht, Working world, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Computer Science, Physics, Technology and, for the first time this year, Earth and space sciences. Jugend forscht is Germany's best-known research competition for young people from the 4th grade to the age of 21. The competition promotes STEM education throughout Germany since 1965. Talents compete in six Jugend forscht subject areas: Working World, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Computer Science, Physics, and Technology. Irene Bruckmeier, awarded 2nd place in Physics at the Jugend Forscht Regional Competition of Munich West in 2021, won the first edition of the Robotics & AI Internship organized by MIRMI and Franka Emika as a special prize for her project in Robotics ‘Control and stabilization of a two-wheeled LEGO robot with Simulink’ (original title: Regelung und Stabilisierung eines zweirädrigen LEGO-Roboters mit Simulink).
