A myoelectric prosthesis for the hand is the focus of the CyberTUM student team. At the Cybathlon 2024, pilot Adnan Jukic will control it in the Arm Prothesis Race with the help of muscle signals in the forearm. MIRMI supports five schools from South and East Bavaria as part of the advisory body for the Profile Schools for Informatics and Future Technologies initiative (PIZ), launched by the Bavarian State Ministry for Education. As part of this project, the teachers responsible for the schools we support were invited to the MIRMI headquarters to present their approaches to teaching and applying technologies such as AI and robotics in their schools, and exchange their ideas.

After two years online, Jugend forscht, Germany's science competition for young talent, is back live. This week, at the regional Jugend forscht München West competition organized by MIRMI, Franka Emika and the Robokind Foundation, 63 young scientists presented 44 exciting and innovative research projects in the seven thematic areas of Jugend forscht, Working world, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Computer Science, Physics, Technology and, for the first time this year, Earth and space sciences.

Jugend forscht is Germany's best-known research competition for young people from the 4th grade to the age of 21. The competition promotes STEM education throughout Germany since 1965.
