Our nose is a little miracle. Around 20 million sensory cells convert chemical signals into electrical impulses. Our brain interprets them as smells. Electronic noses can now convert odor molecules in a similar way and then recognize smells. How well are they working already? And can diseases be sniffed out using artificial noses?
