Prof. Jia Chen received an ERC Consolidator Grant for an outstanding research project

Impressive news! Prof. Jia Chen will receive one of the internationally highly regarded ERC Consolidator Grants from the European Research Council (ERC) for 2022. Her research project CoSense4Climate will be funded for a period of up to five years with up to 2 million euros.

With the project CoSense4Climate, Prof. Jia Chen aims to mitigate climate change globally by developing machine-learning-based models to precisely infer the emission sources of greenhouse gases and air pollutants from atmospheric observations. Prof. Jia Chen leads the Environment@MIRMI sector and is a Professor of Environmental Sensing and Modeling at the TUM School of Computation, Information, and Technology.
