Speaker’s Bio
Mikkel Baun Kjærgaard is a Professor in Software Engineering of the Mc-Kinney Møller Institute of SDU. He conducts research within the areas of software architecture, machine learning, the Internet of Things (IoT), and ubiquitous computing with applications within robotics. The talk will outline how engineers are faced with a range of challenges when contributing to the software of robotic systems. The challenges result that to be successful solutions must deliver functionality that adapts to available resources at a given moment, e.g., in terms of sensor data accuracy, available energy, user interface options, processing power, and communication options. To remain lawful, they also need to protect privacy. Prof. Kjærgaard will present and discuss engineering tactics to address such concerns and software technologies that help implement tactics in practice.
