Project Y: Development of an autonomous service humanoid for housing, living and care in old age

Project Y is the technology and field research module of Geriatronics. The research focus is the further development of the autonomous service humanoid called GARMI. This means in particular the development of sensitive hands and a multimodal robot head to ensure GARMI's perception and interaction with senior citizens. The systems developed in Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be tested at the research center located there. Early test scenarios will be conducted with GARMI in its test apartment and in collaboration with local care facility operators to interact directly with local seniors in need of assistance.
