Every summer: Holiday program and student internship at the research center
Here you can find the vacation program
The KJR and vhs vacation pass makes it possible: Welcome to the junior robot factory
Robotics and AI are an integral part of the future, especially for the younger generation. That's why we are delighted to be able to offer workshops on the so-called Robot Factory Junior every year in cooperation with the local Kreisjugendring vacation pass and the Volkshochschule Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The content is a playful introduction to our work with the GARMI assistance robot, an insight into the world of assistance robotics in general and, above all, lots of hands-on experimentation with the easy-to-program robot arms. Each workshop lasts 2 hours without a break.
This year, the workshops will take place in the morning and afternoon of August 7 at our premises at Bahnhofstraße 37. As soon as the registration is open to the public, we will link it here.
Here are the informations for the student internship

Young people can immerse themselves in the world of robotics
Thanks to the generous support of the Friends of Geriatronics, we have welcomed school students to the research center for a week every year during the Bavarian summer vacations. This is possible again this year.
It has already become a small tradition - the internship at the Geriatronics Research Center of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Four students aged 16 and over can take a look behind the scenes of the exciting world of robotics with all its technical and scientific facets every day from August 4 to 8 between 9 am and 1 pm and learn how the humanoid care assistant robot GARMI is made fit for practical use. Each day, the young people will accompany one of our researchers and get to know different areas of work at the Geriatronics Research Center - from science communication and public relations to GARMI development, construction and 3D printing.
Applications with a brief introduction can be sent by e-mail to info(at)friends-of-geriatronics.de - the “first come, first serve” principle applies, so that interested applicants from all types of school have the same opportunities.
