Infection protection through the development of telemedical robots
The corona pandemic is unforgotten. Running from June 2020 to February 2021, the ProteCT project developed robot-assisted solutions for medical applications with local separation between the person being treated and the healthcare professional. A robotic arm, which is controlled remotely by medical staff, can perform sensitive measurements of vital parameters such as core body temperature, blood pressure or pulse. Applications in the mouth or throat area are also possible while maintaining a safe distance. With the help of such systems, important examinations can be carried out in crisis situations with an increased risk of infection under safe conditions for both doctor and patient.
