Delegation of the Minister of Economic Affairs for the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant visits MSRM

On Wednesday, September 29th, we welcomed the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant, Martijn van Gruijthuijsen, together with various delegates to MSRM's facilities in Heßstraße, Munich. During the meeting, participants identified common interests and potential cooperation topics. Our guests got an overview of how TUM MSRM is facing societal challenges in the health and work sectors via lighthouse initiatives such as Geriatonics and KI.FABRIK and how the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is promoting ventures in robotics and AI in Bavaria via UnternehmerTUM. The Dutch delegation presented their initiatives related to smart technologies, education using AI, Augmented Reality, software clusters, Digital Twins, advanced manufacturing logistics, among other digitalization advancements. The presentations were followed by a guided lab tour.

We found that both institutions are intensively promoting the translation of research ideas into real applications and business opportunities. Our interests are specially aligned in regards to smart manufacturing, where projects like the Digital Factory of the Future and KI.FABRIK could strengthen the role of the province of Noord-Brabant and Bayern to face key societal challenges via digitalization.

We look forward to establishing new cooperation projects to realize these ideas!
