Robots are cute at best and artificial intelligence is threatening at worst. Wrong. MDR Wissen clear the air with robotics and AI researcher Sami Haddadin and five clichés that we hope are no more!

The Innovation Radar of the European Commission (EC) featured four innovations developed in various TUM / MIRMI projects in April and May 2022. The Innovation Radar platform builds on the information and data gathered by independent experts, who review the innovations in ongoing projects funded by the European Commission and provide an independent opinion on their market potential. The independent assessment of the market potential of a publicly funded project aims to connect innovators with investors and maximize funding opportunities for European tech entrepreneurs.

Several members of our Chair are going present research papers at the 2022 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA). ICRA brings together the world's top researchers and most important companies to share ideas and advances in the field of robotics and automation.

On Wednesday, May 4 at 18:30, Prof. Oussama Khatib (Standford University) will give the lecture titled "From Romeo & Juliet to OceanOneK Deep-Sea Robotic Exploration" at the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI). OceanOneK is a robotic diver with a high degree of autonomy for physical interaction with the environment while connected to a human expert through an intuitive interface. The robot was recently deployed in several archeological expeditions in the Mediterranean with the ability to reach 1000 meters. Distancing humans physically from dangerous and unreachable…
