Peter So from TUM MIRMI, the organizer of the competition, presented the awards on the RIG STAGE at automatica 2025. This year’s robotics challenge brought together international research teams to focus on a new design for electronic task boards—used to evaluate the agility and responsiveness of their robotic platforms. The tasks revolved around the use of a touchscreen, a component commonly replaced during electronic waste disposal and critical to advancing the circular economy. Teams first completed standard tasks before showcasing their robots’ capabilities with their own e-waste application in the Bring-Your-Own-Device Challenge.
