Biography
Prof. Dr. Alexander König studied electrical engineering and robotics at the Technical University of Berlin and the Georgia Institute of Technology (USA). In 2011, he completed his PhD at the Sensory-Motor Systems Lab of ETH Zurich in the field of rehabilitation robotics. He later conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, focusing on neural rehabilitation after stroke and spinal cord injury and contributing to publications in international scientific journals.
Since 2024, Alexander König has been Professor of Robotics and System Intelligence at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on medical robotics and assistive systems, particularly technologies that support care, rehabilitation, and the early mobilization of critically ill patients. In addition, he founded the Munich-based company Reactive Robotics in 2015, which develops robotic systems for use in intensive care units.
