ERC Proof of Concept funding for Prof. Sandra Hirche's hand rehabilitation project

Prof. Hirche's project focuses on functional electrical stimulation for people with motor impairments, for example after stroke or spinal cord injury. Using advanced machine learning methods, the research team aims to automatically configure stimulation profiles that enable precise hand movements. The approach could reduce therapy time, support self-administered rehabilitation and, in the long term, make everyday use at home more accessible for patients.
