Biography:
Prof. Priyanshu Agarwal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, India. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, USA in 2017. He served as a Research Scientist at Meta Reality Labs Research, USA from 2017 to 2024 before joining IIT Bombay.
Agarwal develops wearable robotic systems for haptics, rehabilitation and human augmentation, with research spanning the design, modeling, control and human-centered evaluation of upper-body wearable robots. He has published over 43 peer-reviewed journal and conference papers and filed 29 U.S. patents. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Researcher Award from the National Center for Simulation in Rehabilitation Research at Stanford University and three Best Paper Awards at international conferences. He has served on the program committee of the 2018 Robotics: Science and Systems Conference and as a Review Editor for Frontiers in Robotics and AI: Robotic Control Systems.
